Barnes & Noble picks Virginia author for their "Discover Great New Writers" series.

Cashwell's delightful book on the pleasures and adventures of amateur birding has just been published by Paul Dry Books. Barnes and Noble recently selected Cashwell for their "Discover Great New Writers" series.

Birdwatchers from all around the country flock (pun intended) to Virginia each year. This is no surprise -- birding is one of the fastest-growing outdoor activities in the country, and Virginia's key spot on the mid-Atlantic flyway means millions of birds pass through the state during migration season. The Verb ‘To Bird' would serve as an excellent jumping off point for a feature which highlights the growing popularity of birding in Virginia.
